Assam Mineral Development Corporation was incorporated on 19th May, 1983 under Companies Act.1956 with 100% Govt of Assam equity shares, is the only Public Sector Enterprises of the state engaged for exploration and exploitation of minerals and setting up of mineral based industries.
The initial authorized capital of the Corporation was 20 Lakhs only, which was subsequently enhanced to Rs. 800 Lakhs.The paid up capital is 488.60 Lakhs.
Govt of Assam granted 4 nos of limestone blocks at New Umrangshu, Dima Hasao Dist. For extraction & supply to NTPC,M/s. APGCL etc. 2 Nos. of MOU and SHA executed with M/s. Jayprakash Associates and M/s. Birla Corporation Ltd. for their 2MMT and 1.0 MMT capacity Cement Plant respectively. As required, preparation Mining Plan & EIA/EMP of those areas are almost in final stage except Public Hearing for environment clearance which would be held on 19th August,2017. It is expected to complete the process within this year.
