SETTING UP OF A JOINT VENTURE COMPANY FOR EXTRACTION OF COAL
The Government of India allocated Mandakini B Coal Block at Odisha jointly with three other State Public Sector Organisations namely, Odisha Mining Corporation, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and Meghalaya Mineral Development Corporation for extraction of coal for power generation. All the four allocattees incorporated a JVC, Mandakini B Coal Corporation Ltd for the purpose. However, the Govt. of Odisha did not grant Prospecting Licence and the allocates were unable to progress in the Block. As a result, the Govt. of India penalised the allocattees and also de-allocated the Block. At present the allocates appealed to the Govt. of India for reconsideration of the decision on de- allocation of the Coal Block explaining the fact. The decision is awaited.
PROPOSED PROJECT ON APATITE MINING
Nagur Minerals Pvt. Ltd. applied for Prospecting-cum- Mining Lease on an area of 25 sq. km. for Apatite at Karbi Anglong Disrtict. The party is willing to engage the Corporation for supervision and grading of the mineral against commission basis.
PROPOSED PROJECT ON SETTING UP OF A 1 MILLION MT CEMENT PLANT
Govt. of Assam has selected Birla Corporation Ltd. for entering into an agreement for setting up of a one million MT cement Plant in Assam with 12.5% share. The share contribution will be made by Birla Corporation Ltd. on behalf of AMDC.
PROPOSED PROJECTS ON SETTING UP OF A 2 MILLION MT CEMENT PLANT
Govt. of Assam has selected Jaiprakash Associates Ltd. for entering into an agreement for setting up of a two million MT cement Plant in Assam with 18% share. The share contribution will be made by Jaiprakash Associates Ltd. on behalf of AMDC.
